Stedman Graham – Teens Can Make it Happen Program with Karen Reed and Dr. Thomas Maridada III
The Inkster School District of Detroit Michigan was saved from closure and the students test scores were doubled due to the efforts of Dr. Tom Maridada III, Karen Reed and Patrick Collins. Dr. Maridada III was the Pontiac Michigan’s School District Superintendent, and leader in President Obama’s Promise Zone Initiative. Dr. Maridada III is the former Washington Headquartered Children’s Defense Fund Director of Policies, Practices and Strategic Alliances and is currently CEO of Bright Foundation for the State of Ohio Schools. In collaboration, KDR Global Education Solutions, procured Stedman Graham, Oprah Winfrey’s partner, to teach and license his Teen Can Make it Happen program to benefit students, parents and the community.
President Obama Promise Zone Initiative
The Promise Zone Initiative is designed to give students an economic opportunity to attend college. Karen Reed and Stedman Graham complemented that opportunity with proven sustainable programs within the Pontiac, Michigan School District that provided each student a roadmap that prepared them to take full advantage of this opportunity. The Pontiac plan is one of only three approved by the state Department of Treasury out of 10 programs in Michigan. State Rep. Tim Melton former resident of Pontiac created the legislation to make the Promise Zone initiative possible.
Frank Malvestuto – Space Science Innovations
Karen Reed represented Frank Malvestuto, a former head of NASA Supersonic Aerodynamics Division Langley Research Center, who was also a Former Chief of Flight Science Division Lockheed California Corporation, in his pursuit of venture capital for patented technology, which dramatically increase aircraft, watercraft and spacecraft lift capabilities.
